Senior Editor, Plate; New York, NY

Caroline Hatchett is senior editor at Plate and a James Beard-nominated writer, whose work appears in The Washington Post, The Bitter Southerner, Food & Wine, Wine Enthusiast, and more. Before joining Plate, she was editor at StarChefs and programming director for its International Chefs Congress. She graduated from the University of Georgia and spent a summer studying at Le Cordon Bleu Paris, where she graduated first in her class. After a few years working as a prep cook (and getting fired from a serving job), Hatchett decided her love of food was best served in front of a laptop—and not behind the line—and she has since dedicated much of her career to writing about and for the industry.
