Chef-Owner, La Pepita and La MiniPepita; Barcelona, Spain

Sergio Andreu is chef and owner of La Pepita, a modern and innovative tapas restaurant opened with his wife, Sofia Boixet, in 2010 and its sister bar, the charming La MiniPepita, opened in 2014. Both places are considered gastronomic destinations, contributing to the vibrancy and continued growth of Spanish cuisine. Chef Andreu was born and raised in Alicante, Spain and studied and worked as an industrial designer before dropping out, deciding to turn up his life by dedicating himself professionally to cooking. He studied cooking and pastry at the remarkable Hofmann Culinary School in Barcelona before moving to Paris to work with Alberto Herráiz at the Michelin-starred Fogón Restaurant. In 2010, he went back to Barcelona where he’s lived and worked ever since. @lapepitabarcelona
