Chef-Partner, Gage & Tollner, Insa, and The Good Fork; Brooklyn, NY

Sohui Kim (pronounced SO-hee) is chef and partner at Gage & Tollner, Insa, and The Good Fork restaurants. She was born in Seoul, Korea and moved to New York City at age ten, raised in a household centered on food, where entertaining was a regular event. She honed her culinary career working under a number of lauded chefs, including Dan Barber, Michael Anthony, Peter Hoffman, and Anita Lo. In 2005, Sohui was convinced by her husband Ben Schneider that they go forth on their own, and together they opened The Good Fork in Red Hook, followed several years later by their Korean BBQ and karaoke hotspot, Insa, in Gowanus. Gage & Tollner marks the third and largest (and last, she swears this time) endeavor in Sohui’s collection of beloved Brooklyn eateries. @chefsohuikim
