Vishwesh Bhatt is executive chef of Snackbar and author of I Am From Here: Stories and Recipes from a Southern Chef, which was hailed as one of the best cookbooks of 2022 by both Bon Appetit and Food & Wine, as well as other publications. He was also inducted into the Southern Foodways Alliance Fellowship of Artisans, Writers, and Chefs in 2022. In 2019, he was honored as Southern Living’s Southerner of the Year and won the James Beard Foundation Medal for Best Chef South. Chef Vishwesh has been part of Chef John Currence's City Grocery Restaurant Group since 1997, where he started off as a prep cook and worked his way up to executive chef of Snackbar, which opened in 2009.
